VOLUNTEER

In June 2021 we moved into our new office/gallery space at Moon Gate Plaza, from which we are now planning programs. Your volunteer help will be crucial to our operation and much appreciated. This is the time to begin shaping how ACE will contribute to the Chinatown neighborhood and Salinas Valley. Some areas in which volunteers will be needed:

  • Educational programming: planning & materials, content writing, video, educator/student outreach, service learning
  • Festival planning: Asian Festival, Obon Festival, Tri-Tip, Annual Block Party
  • Developing partnership events: Historic Harvey House, National Steinbeck Center, Founders’ Day, Star Market, Salinas Public Libraries, and more
  • Fundraiser Event Planning (performances? dinners? art events?)
  • Exhibits: planning (historical exhibits, art events); creation of materials & promotion, collecting data
  • Oral histories: outreach, collection, interviews, scanning and organizing documents
  • Archives: organization, documentation, and development
  • Guests: greetings, interaction, tours, data collection
